Borned in Russia in 1972, Michael has chosen Montréal as his home since 2011. From there, his works continued to increase beauty and value of both public and private collections around the world, including Germany, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Canada, the U.S., France, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, and Ukraine. He has conducted 16 personal exhibitions, participated to more than 70 group exhibitions in different countries, and received many awards. He teaches art in the SynStudio, a prestigious art school in Montreal. He also gives private lessons in his own studio as well as masterclasses around the world.
Joy and reverence are evident in his works, perhaps especially in the deep play of light and shadow. He experiments continuously, challenging himself with a wide range of styles and techniques. “Every day,” he says, “I look, I hear, I feel my immediate environment. When painting, I relive these sensations. And I believe that if we pay close attention, we can notice that each object and every moment contains the universe.”
In recent years, he has represented Canada at many famous watercolor festivals in Hong Kong, Slovenia, India, Italy, France, Costa Rica, Mexico, Hungary, and Portugal. He is also the official ambassador of Daniel Smith's brand in Canada.
